The WFMT Opera Series has a history of more than 20 years. It broadcasts outstanding opera works from top theatres around the world every week, covering almost the entire United States. It is one of the most influential and popular opera programmes in the country. The NCPA opera series is broadcast in 2022 and 2023 as part of the long-going collaboration between the NCPA and WFMT opera series. The series features NCPA productions of world classics and Chinese opera commissions, inviting renowned artists from domestic and abroad such as conductors Donato Renzetti and LÜ Jia, sopranos Serena Gamberoni, Olga Peretyatko and LEI Jia, tenors SHI Yijie and WANG Hongwei, baritone Roberto de Candia, et al., to interpret the works and share their performance experiences.
